Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. provided mentoring to fertilizer and pesticide merchants in Jakarta. It was done to follow up KPKP Dept.'s monitoring and evaluation on the field.
Farmers in Jakarta must be avoided from using fake fertilizers
Jakarta KPKP Dept. Head, Darjamuni mentioned, this mentoring was conducted in two sessions. First was to evaluate pesticide and fertilizer monitoring result and second was to discuss about subsidized fertilizer distribution mechanism in Jakarta.
"From this activity, residents especially farmers in Jakarta can get good product with a guaranteed quality," he conveyed at KPKP Dept. Office, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya, Central Jakarta, Monday (11/26).
360 Tons of Subsidized Fertilizer Distributed to Agricultural LandsHe explained, KPKP Dept. will continue to build synergy with related parties, including Polda Metro Jaya to ensure distribution and trade of subsidized and non subsidized fertilizers and pesticides are not violating the regulation.
"Monitoring is important thus no farmer is disadvantaged," he added.
Jakarta KPKP Dept.'s Farming Division Head, Diah Meidianti conveyed, purpose of this mentoring is to increase merchant's awareness and knowledge about correct use of fertilizer and pesticide according to regulation.
"Farmers in Jakarta must be avoided from using fake fertilizers. Besides, we also want them to use pesticide well by not mixing it with others," she said.
According to her, KPKP Dept. has Plant Protection and Seed Development Center Unit which job is to monitor pesticide and fertilizer use, placement, and distribution on the field routinely.
"We have monitored and reviewed it. From our findings, we feel need to do further mentoring," she asserted.
She explained, KPKP Dept. will also continue to intensify socialization about pesticide to farmers in Jakarta to prevent any mistake in using it.
"Don't let farmers become disadvantaged. Hopefully, this continuous socialization can make farmers in Jakarta becomes more aware of this issue," she expressed.
For information, this activity was
also attended by KPKP Sub-dept.'s representatives from five Jakarta regions, Polda Metro Jaya, and also pesticide and fertilizer distributors and merchants.
